The Hitler Youth (Hitlerjugend, HJ) was founded in the 1920s in Germany and became, from 1933 onward, the official youth organization of the Nazi regime. Intended to train and indoctrinate young boys, it aimed to prepare future generations within the framework of the regime. Its development took place during the rise of the regime and leading into World War II.
Between 1933 and 1945, the Hitler Youth played a central role in the ideological and physical training of German youth. Activities included paramilitary exercises, discipline, and participation in official events. As the war progressed, some members were increasingly assigned auxiliary roles in support of the war effort, particularly in the later stages of WWII.
