Rare "Kubanka" Cossack hat worn by a Cossack volunteer in the Wehrmacht. Complete set. Features an aluminum eagle and oak leaves. Band made of ersatz astrakhan; crown of grey wool cloth with a red cross. Grey quilted cotton lining. Size 58 stamp. This headgear bears "Statni Film" and "722" stamps from a 1951 inventory by Barrandov Studios. Specializing in large-scale war films within the Eastern Bloc after 1945, the studio utilized the thousands of authentic uniform itemsincluding extremely rare piecesthat were available in abundance across Warsaw Pact countries in the immediate post-war period. This item was brought back from the East in the 1980s, along with the extremely rare SS tropical cap listed under reference GX050Z.
