ET66, #4300. Aluminium ring. Chin strap with aluminium buckle. Retains 85-90% of original early LW grey painting. Rare 1rst model LW eagle: 90% (only from 1934 to 1936!). National shield 80-90%. Hard to find, few early LW helmets survived the war, most of the surviving one having been repainted. GC-VGC.

The Luftwaffe was established in 1935 as part of the rearmament of Germany, marking the return of a modern German air force. Developed under the leadership of Hermann Göring, it included fighter, bomber, and support units, with continuously evolving equipment leading up to World War II. The Model 35 helmet (M35) reflects this development, being one of the first standard-issue helmets, known for its rolled edges, quality construction, and distinctive Luftwaffe decals.
Between 1939 and 1945, the Luftwaffe operated across multiple fronts, supporting both air operations and ground forces. The M35 helmet was used by airfield personnel, anti-aircraft units, and various ground elements across different theaters. Valued for its solid construction and recognizable profile, it later evolved into simplified variants while remaining a classic and highly identifiable piece of German WWII militaria.
