For his heroic actions at the head of his men during the Battle of Stalingrad, particularly in the fighting at the Barrikady tractor factory, W. Winzer was posthumously awarded the rank of Knight of the Iron Cross on 2.11.42. In November 1942, his personal effects were returned to his widow. This jacket comes from an American collection specializing in the Battle of Stalingrad. The jacket is made of feldgrau tricotine, with a hand-embroidered chest eagle and collar tabs.
